Cass opened her eyes slowly. It was the morning after the Flight. Cassondra wasn't entirely certain what to make of the outcome. She felt a little bit awkward. Yes, she had hoped for this outcome, but... She hadn't counted on feeling any awkwardness about it later. Why should it change anything, though? It was normal for these kinds of things to happen in the Weyr. But, perhaps, it came from the fact that Cass was hoping for more than just a night after her dragoness' Flight and then going back to everything in some part of her girly heart. But that was impractical, and she told herself so as she sat up slowly, holding the furs up to the base of her neck, looking over at the man who had won Hasth's Flight. A'lik. Moruth and Hasth were curled up together near Hasth's couch, which was probably not as big as it needed to be fore the two.
Cass got up slowly, trying not to wake A'lik and went to change, getting dressed quickly and quietly. She sat on the edge of the bed, brushing out her blonde hair, still quiet. Moruth -had- won. She recalled the conversation she had had with A'lik that day. She hoped that she hadn't influenced Hasth's choice in any way. She didn't think she had. Moruth had simply tried so hard. That was why he had won. Hasth had seen him as being the one who was the most daring. The bravest.
She wondered if Hasth would choose someone else next time she flew, but that thought didn't stick around for long. There was no need to be worrying about something that was a ways into the future yet. Things were best taken a step at a time. And the next step she was going to be taking was trying to figure out what came next.
She knew Hasth would soon start to become egg heavy and clutch some time in the future. She knew that the Green was also going to be more herself, which was one worry off her shoulders. She also knew that she would have to figure out how she would act around A'lik. Quite simply, she could return to their simple and easy friendship. That is if that was what he wished to do, which she didn't doubt at that moment that that would be it. After all, she told herself again, she was being ridiculous to think too much of it. This was a Weyr. A Hold born girl such of herself, though, she still read a lot more into these things than she probably should...
