In the wake of the Hatching Feast events, rumors will be flying hard and fast over the next few days. Feel free to go wild with them, use them in your posts, and add your own!
What's confirmed:
The soup for the Hatching Feast was poisoned by someone unknown. No one in particular was targeted as far as they can tell. The spiciness of the soup would have covered up any taste of the poison. The poison was made from a local plant that is found in Alietran's woods--it is also used for medicinal purposes, so a supply is kept on hand in the Infirmary. Weyrfolk and guests are both restricted from leaving the Weyr until they get it sorted out. Anyone seen leaving the Weyr will be dealt with harshly, rider or not. No suspects have been determined as of yet.
Rumors:
The poisoner responsible for this event also murdered Weyrwoman Kolyka over a period of several months, which would mean the poisoner is someone who has been at the Weyr for over two turns.
The Lord Holder of Southern received a higher dose of the poison, which means he was the target.
Alternatively, he is simply more sensitive to it, or already sick.
The poisoning was a prank by a disgruntled candidate who didn't Impress, or by a member of their family.
The poisoner is L'cal, who wanted to get rid of the inefficient Weyrwoman Kolyka when he couldn't control her.
The poisoner was one of a faction of riders who did not like the idea of Kolyka as Weyrwoman.
The poisoner was a spy from another Weyr who killed Kolyka to leave Alietran without a gold.
The poisoner is the healer, who had access to the herb used in the poisoning.
Herbs and medical supplies have been going missing (this is not confirmed) so it was someone else.
The poisoner was the Lord's wife, jealous over his infidelities.
