Name: L'cal (Lordacal)
Gender: Male
Age: 45
Birthdate (Season): Winter
Location: Alietran Weyr
Rank:Weyrleader/Wingleader
Wing (if applicable): Icy Storm
Family: B'kal of Bronze Ershath (deceased)
Lornala of Green Ashteth (deceased)
B'nal, brownrider
Physical Appearance: L'cal is a big, imposing man, well-built from turns of working with dragons and taller than most men. He keeps himself impeccably clean and tidy, how a bronzerider "should" look. His hair is black, starting to show a bit of grey at the temples, and cut quite short to fit under a helmet with no trouble. His skin is darkly tanned and he has dark brown eyes.
Personality: L'cal is an extremely strict and demanding man, but he has a good heart deep (deep, deep) down. He is something of a perfectionist and everything has to be done just right with him; he can get quite upset when someone's done a careless or shoddy job, and he is always convinced that his way is the right way. He is quite stubborn and it is generally pretty difficult to get him to change his mind about anything, though it is possible.
L'cal has always been rather introverted with little interest in meeting people. He is not rude, though, and over time has gotten better about taking other people's feelings into account and having some empathy, though he is by no means outgoing. He is a very private person who just doesn't like to share his thoughts with anyone except Cherith, and this extends to his relationships with friends and lovers, of which there have been few.
He is a creature of habit and doesn't particularly enjoy being confronted with anything new, but he is also adaptable and willing to use whatever methods he can to get what he wants. He has kind of a short temper, though Cherith is usually able to calm him down before he does anything stupid.
History: Lordacal was born to a couple of riders who had already been weyrmates for several turns. He was the younger of their two sons, and he and his brother were quite close growing up. He had a good relationship with both his parents, despite the fact that, with them busy caring for their dragons, a lot of Lordacal's life was spent with a foster mother in the lower caverns. Still, he idolized his parents, especially his father, and one turn after B'nal Impressed, Lordacal was also considered old enough to stand for the clutch.
He didn't Impress straight away, however, and in fact it was almost eight turns before he finally Impressed, and Lordacal was beginning to despair of ever Impressing. He had just turned twenty turns old, and Sirith's latest clutch would be his last chance to Impress before he became to old to stand. Fortunately, one of the first dragons to hatch was a sturdy, dark bronze hatchling, and though he wandered around on the sands long enough to allow a couple of his siblings to Impress before him, he soon made his choice--and told L'cal that his name was Cherith.
L'cal, as well as his family, was ecstatic with his Impression, and they passed through weyrling training with flying colors. Within five turns of Impressing Cherith, L'cal had earned a position as wingsecond, and two turns after that, Cherith chased the Senior Queen, Gold Sirith. Though he had chased and caught a fair number of greens over the turns, this was the first time the bronze caught a gold, and it made L'cal the new Weyrleader.
Though he was initially unprepared for the responsibilities expected of him, with Eliska and his old Wingleader to help him and guide him, he did a decent job--well enough that the next time Sirith rose, Cherith caught her once again, and the Weyrleadership was more stable than it had been for many turns of rotating Weyrleaders.
Though they never had a particularly passionate or romantic relationship, L'cal and Eliska became partners and friends, and eventually weyrmates, though they never had any children together. Then, three turns ago, Eliska died and Sirith went between in grief, leaving the young Kolyka as Senior Weyrwoman. L'cal did her best to help her adjust, and whether by luck or as a result of his frequent hinting that a stable Weyrleadership would be good for Alietran, Cherith caught the young queen Eynalth in her first flight as Senior Queen.
Tragically, Kolyka fell sick and died only a few months later, leaving Alietran without a queen. It was L'cal's idea to take some of the greens from Eynalth's last clutch and keep them from chewing firestone, in hopes that they would lay eggs, maybe even a queen. Though there were a few snags in the plan, such as the first green to rise being caught by a blue instead of a bronze, the plan seems to have worked so far.
Dragon
Name: Cherith
Color: Bronze
Size: 44' long
Age: 25
Clutch Parents: Gold Sirith x Bronze Neth
Physical Appearance: Cherith is a large, strong bronze in the prime of his life, and he knows it! He is on the large end of the scale, with sturdy, heavily-muscled legs and wings and a somewhat short, blunted tail, with half his tail-fork missing from an old firestone accident.
Color-wise, he is a very dark, burnished brown-bronze color, with light coppery highlights around his head and forepaws, while his wingsails are a lighter orangish bronze.
Personality: Calmer and more mild-mannered than his bond, Cherith has a cool temper and takes things in stride. He's quite laid-back for a bronze, and friendly towards other dragons, though he has an annoying tendency to look down on the smaller colors. He is not picky when it comes to flights, however, and he is an extremely flirtatious bronze--there's rarely a green rising that he doesn't chase, given the opportunity.
